A trace of light partial toning to the free endpapers, and just a hint of wear to the backstrip ends. A virtually fine copy in non-price-clipped dust wrapper, lightly toned at the spine panel, with a touch of spotting and soiling, an inch of loss to the lower edge, a sliver of further loss from the head of the spine panel, some tenderness to one natural fold, and some internal repair. The thirteen-page story 'Alice' was originally printed in a January 1929 issue of 'Harper's Bazaar' and appears here in bookform for the first time; the ten-page story 'The Lost Novel' appears in print here for the first time and does not appear to have ever been reprinted.
